Sprint 4 Begins

If there is a “center” to ZIMS, Sprint 4 might be it. Sprint 4 includes accession screens for individuals and groups, identifiers, transponders, morphometrics and measurement types (like live animal weight or shell length).
These are the screens that most ZIMS users will use often. It’s no coincidence that we placed the development of these screens at this point – midway through the seven-sprint process. These screens contain some of the most complex code, and we wanted to ensure that the development process was working smoothly before we built this set of screens.
We are happy to report that the ZIMS project continues to move along very well and we foresee no major troubles developing these important 45 screens. Like each sprint, this one begins with two weeks of planning (today we bid farewell to the three team members from India who have been meeting with us in Minnesota this week). The code writing action on Sprint 4 begins next week.

Sprint 3: Completed on Deadline

“Sprint 3” ZIMS screens have completed testing and are almost through the final bug-fixing phase. The seven-week development period ("Sprint") produced 70 more ZIMS screens. Sprint 3 focused on enclosures and aquarium life support systems. Below are a few screen shots. Click on the screen to see a larger version.
